Someone posted a URL for SupplyFrame.com on Makezine.com yesterday. SupplyFrame.com is an electronic component datasheet search engine. I've never used it but I know it will come in handy when I go to find a datasheet for some of the random ICs I have laying around.
If are looking for a hard to find datasheet you might want to give SupplyFrame a shot. I'm going to try it out with a hard to find LCD datasheet and see myself.

This weekend I found some stuff on my computer I did years ago; pictures, video, etc. In this age of internet media hosting I figured why not throw the videos on youtube and make a gallery for all the pix I want to share.
When I was in High School I converted a 1991 VW Cabriolet into an electric car and, with some friends, entered a road rally in 2001 and 2002. Today I uploaded a video of the car, and made a gallery for the pictures. We called ourselves TeamEV and for all those interested in electric cars the website is http://teamev.com . I will put up more technical pics and info as I dig it out of the backups. Enjoy.
Also, I found a quick clip of a Lego Mindstorm line following bot I did back in HS. Check it out: http://youtube.com/watch?v=Jaecd1uuLpc

Some more tips for your browsing pleasure. Last night RHat sent us a tip on http://www.natrium42.com/ in their words "a cool little site that has Nintendo DS projects". For $45 USD you too can have a Nintendo DS serial card / hardware platform. Worth a look if you have a DS and like to interface to things.
Also, this morning Dave L sent us a tip on http://www.electronics-lab.com/ . This is yet another site i've been too a few times before but never made a post on. Electronics-lab.com has a rather active forum and some cool links to projects from all over. So if you are searching for something to build or you have a question, swing by. (We also have a forum, and yes we respond ;-))
Thanks for the tips guys, you are entered to get the Olimex PIC-MT Dev Board. Keep the tips coming!

Check out this Open Source EEPROM burner package. This project has info on both the hardware and software required to build your own personal Linux based EEPROM burner. The schematic doesn't look too complex and if you have all the parts, some wire-wrap and a weekend you too could have your own EEPROM burner.
Linux EEPROM Programmer: http://www.ibiblio.org/pub/Linux/apps/circuits/EEP-0.2.html
Build this EEPROM burner, the Parallel PIC programmer we mentioned before, this AVR controlled power supply and a soundcard Oscilloscope and you have your very own DIY lab!

Here's a new tip for http://www.scienceprog.com submitted by SPman. ScienceProg.com is a blog that has numerous posts on micontrollers and general electronics projects. The latest post on the site is ' Interfacing microcontrollers to external devices ' which is great for those starting with TTL interfacing. Remember, you can't run a motor directly from a microcontroller pin!!
Some other posts including an ultraviolet light source for PCB exposure, ARM7 development board for LPC2148, and an AVR controlled audio-processor
Check it out and keep submitting those tips for the Tips Contest

Today NoZone sent in a tip today about Embedds.com where you can find some very interesting projects.
I don't think I've ever stumbled across this site before but it's going straight to my bookmarks. Looks like they have been around since July and are trying for an embedded project post per day. There are a bunch of cool projects including yesterdays post on an 68H000 32bit single board computer that can run Embedded Linux, cool cool stuff.
If you are looking for some cool PIC/AVR/ARM projects, checkout http://www.embedds.com/
Thanks NoZone, you have an entry to win the Olimex PIC-MT development board from SparkFun electronics.

It took a few days but the tips are starting to roll in.
Thanks go out to Hakeisu for submitting the Spring 2007 University of Colorado Senior Capstone project page. There is some really cool stuff on here including a project to make a device that acts as both the starter and alternator of a car.

I've known about EmbeddedRelated for a while but don't think I ever made a post about it. Well Mike B dropped a tip and enlightened me on my error. EmbeddedRelated is a site dedicated to all kinds of embedded systems, using a forum like structure.
Take a look: http://embeddedrelated.com/
Bill R dropped us a tip today about a sweet piece of software that allows you to use a WiiMote as a media player controller; BlueTunes. I downloaded the app and the software worked no problem, even with my older Win2000 using BlueSoleil setup.

Thanks to all, the tipsters are entered to win the Olimex PIC-MT from SparkFun Electronics. If you find a cool site, drop us a tip and enter to win!
